It is inevitable that some children will find certain subjects more difficult. Others may find some lessons too easy and need to be stretched academically. In both cases individual tuition can be immensely valuable, restoring enjoyment and confidence to the learning process - leading to better understanding and also higher grades.

One-to-one tuition can have a hugely positive impact by pinpointing issues, plugging gaps in knowledge, extending learning and simply providing personalised, bespoke support. The value of this individual attention - so often impossible to provide in a traditional classroom setting - should not be underestimated.

In addition to subject specific support I have also helped more generally with academic preparation, helping pupils to develop good study techniques across the board and overseeing individual revision programmes. I have worked as a mentor up to GCSE level, monitoring and supporting academic progress across the spectrum. This includes devising and overseeing personalised revision and study programmes whilst offering attention, guidance and encouragement in order to ensure that students fulfil their potential. This provides a level of personalised, individual support that would not otherwise be possible.
